Sheridan County Health Complex is making some exciting changes!

As we continue to grow and offer more resources for our community, we realize that our brand needs to grow as well. We want to create something new that honors our past, paves the way for the future, and simplifies how we communicate about the complexity of our services.

After months of work with our Board of Directors, consulting from PANO Marketing, and development from Gardner Design, we are excited to officially unveil: AmberMed.

The name “AmberMed” harkens from the lyrics of “America the Beautiful” as Merle Haggard sings about the “amber waves of grain.” The amber fields of wheat at harvest in Sheridan County are a testament to the collaboration, hard work, and sense of community it requires to farm these lands we call home. Likewise, we at AmberMed work together to keep our loved ones healthy, know the honor of providing for others, and hold our community in the highest regard.

How will this affect me?

We are still one organization and AmberMed will be the overreaching name, replacing SCHC.

As AmberMed, we still operate a clinic, a hospital, and a long-term care facility, but under a unified identity, we are also able to include dental services, expanded behavior health, as well as mobile and outreach services.

Making this change allows us to grow and continue to support the community that is right here in our backyard!

What changes will happen?

We’ve already launched our brand-new website, where this blog lives!

Feel free to explore the site, we’ve spent months developing this site with an award-winning design firm and an agency that specializes in healthcare marketing. This site is designed to be friendly for both your desktop and mobile devices. Scheduling appointments, making payments, and finding useful information are now easy to navigate, ADA-compliant, and much more informative.

Over the next few weeks and months, we will be changing out signage, materials, and more throughout the complex. Slowly, we will start using the AmberMed logo on all old SCHC brand items, such as badges, letterhead, brochures, forms, emails, and more. We are already rolling out new AmberMed apparel for our staff, including AmberMed scrubs. Our new downtown location and the Selden clinic will also be receiving new signage.

Common Questions

We understand there will be a lot of questions from both the community and our staff.

Here are some common questions and answers to help better understand this incoming change.

Did Someone Buy SCHC? Are We Trying To Sell SCHC?

Absolutely not. We will be the same organization tomorrow as we were yesterday. The only thing changing is our name.

Are We Expanding to Other Counties?

No, not at this time. The change from SCHC to AmberMed is designed to better serve the communities we are in right now. We don’t have plans to expand to other communities at this time, however, we recognize that we may have opportunities in the future to serve more of Northwest Kansas.

Will There be Changes to Staff?

No. There are no changes in staff coming as a result of the updating of our brand. The Board of Directors for the Hospital and the Medical Clinic are the same and our mission is unchanged.

Who Made These Decisions?

The Executive Team and the Board of Directors worked together throughout this process and were highly involved. We worked with our Outsourced Marketing provider (PANO Marketing) and a nationally recognized Branding Firm (Gardner Design) to guide us through the process. All final decisions were voted on and approved by the Board of Directors.

How Will This Affect Patients? Will We Offer Different Services?

We will be offering the same services as AmberMed as we did as SCHC. The new website will be a phenomenal new resource for patients, making it easier to engage with us and get the services you need.
